Frequently Asked Questions
Q - Aren't the DEET and other Synthetic products stronger and work longer?
A - Most effective insect repellents are formulated with ethanol and other very flammable and toxic ingredients that are listed by EPA in Category 2. Our products are in the safest category with EPA (Category 4) and have food grade vegetable oil ingredients (non-GMO) and are non-flammable. The products have efficacy studies showing they work as well as other conventional products including DEET but should be re-applied every 4-6 hours. Most repellents will sweat off or stop working in practical situations after 4 hours but the toxic products will be absorbed through the skin and into the blood stream and are particularly flammable. Most toxic formulations cannot be reapplied as needed. The practical choice is an effective natural formula such as Bite Blocker Herbal Spray 3-4 hours of mosquito protection, Bite Blocker Xtreme 4-8 hours depending upon mosquito species, and BioUD 5-6 hours of protection from mosquitoes and ticks. Bite Blocker is EPA exempt and BioUD is EPA registered and they are approved for pregnant women and all ages of children without restrictions. BioUD is EPA registered and can be recommended against Zika, West Nile Virus and other insect and tick borne diseases. See the studies on this website proving Bite Blocker and BioUD are more effective than the leading toxic conventional formulas but it is non flammable and least toxic than all other conventionals.
